I got caught up on other things yesterday, thus didn't managed to upload Irfan's weaning piccas.
Irfan isn't yet 6 months. He'll be so in 9 days but I couldn't wait until he's 6 months on the dot to introduce him to solid. It's because he's now feeding (on milk) more and more than usual and it looked as if he was hungry all the time. That's when both mama and abah decided that we should just go ahead and give him a taste of his first solid yesterday.
The weaning process started with me boiling the carrot and grated it (and just a tiny bit of rice) using the Munchkin baby food grater. I tried many ways but the carrot didn't came out smoothly as I wanted it to be. It was hard work processing the food using that equipment but I kept on doing it as I thought I had no other option.
When I started to feed him, Irfan started to make faces and it looks like it was tough for him trying to consume the food. I thought that, well...first time memang camtu kot.  I was feeling a lil bit down, thinking that he wouldn't wanna eat what his mama prepared for him.
Then I called mak, and she told me that it's supposed to be smooth like those baby food (in jars) that you find on the supermarket shelves. I was so relieved that I didn't try to make him eat more or else risk him choking on the food. She then told me to make a bigger potion (of rice and carrot) and blend it using the common food blender.
I did and wallah! Now Irfan's food looks more edible and he ate 3 spoonful when abah fed him at dinner time. 
Tomorrow carrot again ya sayang

I start my solid today!

Irfan has started on his solid today. After getting much advised on what to give him for the first time (thanks to everyone on their suggestions), I decided on carrot with a mixture of lil bit of porridge as according to mak's suggestion. Irfan ate only a spoonful for the first time. He was making weird faces when the food went into his mouth. I was quite concerned, but mak said that's how it were the first time with us all.
Irfan made such a mess with the food. Luckily, Aunty Emi gave a large plastic bib that's easy to clean so keja mama senang la sikit kan.  Anyway for dinner, abah said he will feed you after he comes back from work. Abah pun nak share the joy of you weaning

Today mama feels like taking Irfan on a tour around our tiny, messy apartment. Yes, whenever mama in a cleaning mood the house will be spit and span but when I woke up on the wrong side of bed, haaa...it'll look as if it'd been hit by a hurricane. Btw, pictures of d kitchen and master bedroom shall not be enclosed here coz tersangat la messy and mama malas nak kemas k..
Anyway, Irfan will start weaning in about 2 weeks time. I've already got him some feeding equipments, but Mama is still confuse on what to give him for the first time. Should I start with fruits or vege?Avocado, apple?? Or maybe carrot as his first meal? What about broccoli? Sigh....
Could someone give me a hand on this stuff??

Irfan and His Lazy Chair
|
|
Irfan enjoys being in his nursery. He loves looking at the colourful toys and furnitures in the room. He enjoys the scenery from this room too, it's overlooking the swimming pool and children playground.
Few weeks back, mama and abah went to this rattan shop to buy some chairs for the balcony. We found this cute little baby chair and mama could imagine him sitting in there while looking out towards his favourite scenery. So abah instantly agreed to buy the cute little thing.
It was a good thing that we bought the chair as Irfan loves it so much!

Awis & Aina - Solemnization

They got married on the 9th of August 2008. We didn't get to snap much pictures as both abah and mama were busy entertaining Irfan. He got a tad over excited as it was his first time attending kenduri, makanya dok melalak la dalam masjid tu.
Luckily, during the akad time, Yone was there to take over so both mama and abah could witness the happening. Thanks cousin!

A Walk in The Park...

These pics were taken shortly after we moved in to our new apartment.
It was on Sunday, abah and mama brought Irfan to have a look around our new neighbourhood. Mula2 ja rajin bawak strolling kat bawah ni, now mama dah malas. Asyik terperap dalam rumah ja. Poor Irfan!

Well...as of today, Irfan is already 5 months and 8 days. Mama missed updating his development as we didn't get to transfer our Streamyx to the new phone number until just recently.
He's really a big boy now. He started to turn around (meniarap) when he was 3 month old but he rarely did it. Mama and abah always called him a lazy bum, but some said that we put too high an expectation towards him. Yeah, I know that every child developed at his/her own rate, but as parents we can't help but get anxious when he doesn't start doing something that he's supposed to do at his age.
A couple of weeks back after my sister told me that my nephew Ariez didn't meniarap until he was about 10 months old, I started to lay back and relax a bit. Irfan is not a lazy bum after all, he just wanna enjoy being on his back a while longer.
Anyway, after reaching 5 months, dia skarang dah sangat active rolling over and over. Sampai mama pulak risau that he might bang his head kat table and other furnitures. And guess what, last night mama and abah caught him in action...doing what? Mengengsot already. Using his face and chest to do it. We were so excited and so clapped our hands loudly near him. He seemed to be amazed by that and trus tak mau mengengsot dah.

Aunty Jan's New Home
|
|
Went to Aunty Jan's for lunch today.Delicious chicken curry with daging salai (she bought in vietnam kot?) and salad + mix vege. Had fruit custard for desert.. Walaupon I said cannot eat anymore tapi setelah dipaksa..had to taste a bit jugak lah.
After that we went to her newly built house yang almost 100% complete. Landscaping belum siap..and some furnitures pon belum siap built in. But it's a nice house really, nice design...i like it.
P/s : Masa we were just about to go out, tyre punctured plak. Dahla semua workshop tutup due to CNY. Sampai kat umah Aunty Jan baru dapat change the tyre. Sigh...what a tiring day!
